About A Spirited Mind

A spirited mind never stops within itself; it is always aspiring and going beyond its strength; it has impulses beyond its powers of achievement.     – Montaigne

Welcome to A Spirited Mind.  I’m Catherine.  I’m an avid reader, fitting in time to nourish my mind between caring for my family, homeschooling, and working as a corporate writer and content strategist.  I love to connect other people with amazing books and ideas, as well as the things I’m learning as I build my own bookmarked life.

A Spirited Mind is a blog devoted to carving out a bookmarked life–reading, thinking deeply, and being inspired by truth and beauty–in the midst of working, parenting, homeschooling, and the busyness of modern life.  You’ll find weekly book reviews in genres ranging from literary fiction to narrative non-fiction and everything in between.  I also write about literature-based homeschooling, juggling responsibilities, and the bigger issues that tie them all together in the modern life of a spirited mind.

Thank you for reading!

  1. I followed a blog link to yours for a recipe. As I viewed other items from your site I saw an entry about Connor Prairie. I figure you must live in Indiana so I just wanted to say ‘Hello!’ to a fellow Hoosier! I am in Purdue Country myself. Have a Blessed Day!
