Behold the dazzling whiteness of the living room. Try not to notice the toys and stroller and random baby sock and other flotsam and jetsam in the photo. I am keeping it real with the before picture so that you’ll be even more impressed when you see it painted.
Of course, that presumes I will ever finish. I can only paint when the children are in bed, and the living room and dining room that have never seemed large before now appear to have walls the size of football fields. I got a little bit of painting done tonight (and by a little bit, I mean that I painted on the wall a little bit and got the rest of the paint all over my arms, feet and clothes) and hopefully over the next week or two I’ll get the job done.
The color I chose is called “Celery Ice” and is a very very slight warm green, but in most lights looks neutral. Whenever I say or think “Celery Ice” I launch into Dana Carvey’s skit about how rock stars make up song lyrics as they go (start watching the clip at about 1 minute in). “She’s as cold as (celery) ice…..paradise!….and the feelin’….was nice!” The vast majority of you have no idea what I’m talking about, and it’s nearly midnight so I am going to rinse off the paint and get to bed!
Stay tuned…

Hi, I'm Catherine Gillespie and A Spirited Mind is where I post about reading, writing, and parenting and the lessons I'm learning as a result. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m so impressed that you’re painting. I really need to do some around here, and it’s so hard to be motivated when it goes in such short bursts. Way to go! I think the room will look great. I love having green-toned walls; you won’t be sorry.
Can’t wait to see the results…in person! Don’t want to rush you, and hope your perfectionist tendencies don’t drive you too hard to get it all accomplished before our visit, but can’t help being excited that we will be there uin TWO WEEKS!!!
Oooh that color sounds so pretty! I can’t wait to see it all done!
