The Week in Books 2010, No. 1

Transforming Grace: Living Confidently in God's Unfailing LoveJerry Bridges books are always a good source for reflection and consideration, and Transforming Grace: Living Confidently in God’s Unfailing Love is no exception. Bridges provides an in depth study of the concept of grace, and our tendency to fall back on works as the source of our justification and spiritual standing, rather than constantly being motivated by our gratitude and amazement at God’s grace in our lives. Although many topics presented in the book are familiar, I think Bridges has a gift for illuminating subjects in a way that seems new even if the concept is something you’ve heard or dealt with before. I’d recommend Transforming Grace either for personal study or for reading with a group.
