Bring the Outside In

When we moved in to our house about four years ago I planted a few lily bulbs in one of my back flowerbeds. This year they have divided and divided so many times that the entire back of our house is one big riot of lily greatness. I love it! There are so many that I have been cutting them with abandon and have hardly made a dent. I have several in tiny vases along the windowsill above the kitchen sink, a nice arrangement on the dining room table (seen above), and another on the mantel. I think I’ll cut more today for the piano.

I love having real flowers in the house, and it’s all the more pleasing when they actually came from my own garden. It looks like soon my black-eyed susans and zinnias and phlox will be in bloom too, so I’ll be able to add to the mix. Is anything pretty blooming in your yard these days?
