Slogging

As I was pushing the double stroller around the neighborhood today at a snail’s pace, I decided that lately I feel like I’m walking through peanut butter, with 30 pound weights strapped to each leg, uphill both ways.

That, plus the fact that when I’m not wearing lipstick (which I almost always am) my lips are nearly colorless, leads me to believe I’m getting anemic.

Blah.

Aside from the ongoing nausea (so much for that gift horse!), mostly I’m just exhausted. As one commenter pointed out in another post, that’s probably due in part to the fact that Jack is still nursing seven times a day, because he eats very little regular food, though not from want of being offered it! I don’t want the new baby to be at Jack’s expense, or vice versa, so as the mama I am taking one for the team.

I’m also taking some iron my dear friend Kim sent me. I am thinking of upping the dosage. In another blessing, I randomly found some organic lean ground beef marked down to $1.99 per pound today at Kroger and I had room in the budget so I got 5 pounds. I still have beef in the fridge from my birthday cow, but was out of ground beef.

I hope you all have a lovely and RESTFUL weekend!
