In a desperate hope of winning a book, and because I love Jacci’s blog, I want to encourage you to visit “The Educational Life.” Jacci, who I do not know in real life but I wish that I did, writes an excellent and thought-provoking blog about teaching her children (four under age seven) following the Charlotte Mason method. She puts such an amazing amount of time and effort and thought into how she teaches – it’s inspiring and humbling! Even if you are not a homeschooler or not homeschooling by the Charlotte Mason method, I think you might find this blog encouraging.
Here is her post on what got her thinking about Charlotte Mason, namely the concept of “living books.” As you might have guessed, that is one of the things that attracts me to the idea too, although I’m not sure if we’ll follow the Charlotte Mason approach completely since I also like the ideas in “The Well Trained Mind” and some other classical approaches.
