The Week In Books, No. 43C – Hannah’s Edition

I know I don’t usually review the books we read to Hannah, but I thought I might review a few of them from week to week.

I checked My ABC Bible Verses: Hiding God’s Word in Little Hearts
out from the library and we REALLY like it. There is a two page spread for each letter of the alphabet, with a Bible verse starting with that letter, and a little story that shows how a child could apply the verse. Hannah enjoys the letters, the verses are well chosen, and the stories aren’t stupid. I could see using this book as a devotional book for early readers too.

One of the autumn-type books we checked out this week was Ox-Cart Man
or, as Hannah calls it, “Otts Cot Man.” I love the illustrations, which show scenes from New England, and I like how the story shows a family making a living from their farm year-round. Hannah likes the book because the ox has an “earring” (a ring in his nose) and she’s currently obsessed with leaves changing colors.
