It seems I’m one of the few people in the blogosphere without a regular morning schedule. I’m a morning person, but there are so many things I want to do in the “merneen” as Hannah calls it that I do something different every day.

Ideally, here are the things I would get accomplished before 7am:

  • have my quiet time
  • eat breakfast
  • do an aerobics DVD
  • take my shower etc
  • do any cleaning that is not easily done with an attendant toddler, such as mopping

Then I would arrive at the kids’ door at 7am, fed, toned, clean, dressed, with hair and makeup fixed. I would cheerfully chirp, “Good Morning!”

I figure to make this happen I would need to be up every day by 4:30am. I’m reading a biography of Amy Carmichel right now that indicates her family got up at 4:40am daily. So it can be done.

Can I do it? Let’s get real. I don’t get enough sleep as it is. But I could probably stand to be a bit more disciplined with my daily routine. Or maybe I’m doing just fine. I’m sure in a few years when we’re seriously homeschooling and maybe have other children, I’ll have to have a set schedule, but maybe for now it’s ok to be flexible.

Anyway, points to ponder.

How do you spend your “merneen”s?
