I meant to write about this book last week but forgot. I missed book club this month, but “Wanting To Be Her” was the selection up for discussion. The book discusses body image issues, from a Christian perspective. It’s a good topic, but a mediocre book. The author does make some good points along the way, but she also goes off on strange tangents and makes wild exegetical leaps. She’s involved in some kind of para-church college ministry so I guess some of her conclusions didn’t really surprise me.
I haven’t been reading much over the past few weeks I guess. I have started three separate books and they are lying about waiting for me to pick them up again. I guess they are just boring me and I should probably take them back to the library and try something else. In the meantime I have been keeping busy reading to Hannah and working in the yard and keeping up with other things. Hopefully next week I’ll have a more interesting book update. And/or a new baby to report upon.
