Conquering Clutter Challenge

Inspired by Mrs. Wilt from Sparrow’s Nest, who is running a series on conquering clutter, I decided to get a handle on my recipe clippings. I like to clip recipes from magazines, and sometimes I try them, sometimes I don’t get around to it, but always the clippings wind up shoved in the kitchen junk drawer, or in unsighly piles on my desk. Yesterday I gathered up some manila file folders, labeled them by categories (such as soups, main courses, desserts, entertaining, etc), and at long last sorted and filed ALL of my recipe clippings. I found a convenient place for the files between the side of my microwave and the ledge of the kitchen backsplash – it’s the perfect width for the files, and the tops stick up enough for me to grab the folder I need. It’s very neat and tidy, and my desk and junk drawer look MUCH better for the effort.

Pop over to Sparrow’s Nest to see the other organization projects people are tackling.
