Go To Sauce

This recipe is my new favorite. It doesn’t have a name, so I call it “go to sauce” for the same reason that the person in the office who always gets the job done right is called the “go to girl/guy.” It’s easy, versatile, and delicious.

Go To Sauce
1.5 cups chicken broth
4 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1.5 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Wisk above ingredients together. In separate pan, saute meat (I’ve used chopped up chicken, ground beef, beef tips, and chicken pieces) with a package of sliced mushrooms. Add sauce and simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes.

This is great on rice. It’s also a tasty thing to do with leftovers. For example, if we have roast chicken I will serve chicken pieces one night, then pick the rest of the chicken off the bird and save it for another use. This sauce is perfect for the leftover pieces.

Josh really likes it, and Hannah does too. So we have a new family favorite. Bon appetit.
