Hey From Hilton Head

{Note: I was unable to post this at the beach for some reason, so I’m posting it now that we’re back in VA at my parents’ house. See Hannah’s blog for more pictures of our trip.}

Here I am with Princess Poopcious on the beach at Hilton Head. We’re here for the week with my parents, after a week of visiting both sets of my grandparents, two sets of my aunts and uncles, my younger brother, various cousins, family friends, a small dog, and a partridge in a pear tree. Hannah held up well, bless her heart, even as she cut two teeth on the road! She never cried in the car, which, as you will know if you are a parent, is a truly amazing circumstance.

Hilton Head is a very pretty island, and relaxing as beach vacations go. The first day on the beach Hannah saw wild dolphins for the first time! She is too young to know she should have been more impressed. She does like the beach though, and has discovered that sand is her new favorite food.

We’ve spent some time at the pool in our resort complex too, and Hannah has enjoyed blowing bubbles in the water. If I hold her by the stomach, she will kick and move her arms as if swimming, which is adorable.

Speaking of the pool, another family staying in our complex turned out to be a NFL football player and his wife and kids. Hannah had fun playing with their youngest daughter, and someday will perhaps think it’s cool that she’s met a guy who won a Super Bowl!
On Saturday we depart SC and head up to Virginia to see two more aunts, one uncle, and more friends. Then next Wednesday we will drive home, stopping en route to see a good friend of mine from High School. After my mom and aunt drive back to DC from my house that Friday, I will probably need a vacation from my vacation!
