Rocking Out

Saturday night we went to our church’s annual Couples Dinner. It was the first time we left Hannah with her Grammy and Papa to babysit (they said she did fine), so it was nice to have a dinner out with delicious food and interesting conversation. During dessert, Josh played instrumental pieces on his guitar as background music, including some of his own compositions, and the other musical performer was a lady from church who sang several 1940s/1950s tunes that we didn’t know. The older couples appeared to really enjoy hearing songs that were popular when they were first courting, and that was cute.

Not that we have anything against “Peg O My Heart”, but later, when we were talking about these old tunes, Josh said, “You know, 40 years from now we’re all going to be sitting at the Couples Dinner while a soloist performs romantic hits from our youth – like “Pour Some Sugar On Me” by Def Leppard.”
